Hey, I'm Amanda

I’m a solutions-focused counsellor. I help women find relief from spiralling thoughts and get back in control.

Hey, I'm Amanda.

I help women like you stop spiraling thoughts, with super practical counselling that will put you in control again.

I’m glad you’re here.

Clients come to me when they find themselves over-thinking, not looking after themselves, and sometimes even finding it’s hard to breathe.

I’ve worked with hundreds of women on the Northern Beaches to identify exactly what they need to break free and lift that weight off their shoulders.

New around here?

My absolute passion is supporting women with navigating relationships and life transitions, finding freedom from anxiety and self-doubt, and uncovering the confidence I know is there (but you might not, yet).

My intuitive ability to see the big picture of your unhelpful patterns. I can support you to get unstuck in six sessions. You’ll start to feel relief after just one session. My approach is direct and laser-focused so you can create a lasting pathway to balance.

I escaped the corporate chaos and went back to uni to become a registered counsellor, and I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

We live in a neuro-spicy home – my husband, two primary-schoolers and a dalmatian. Having survived anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic illness, and I use the exact same tools I teach my clients every day.

Client Testimonials

I’ve set boundaries in my life I didn’t even know I could set, and she helped me to see the world from a much healthier perspective.

Amanda has literally changed my life and my way of coping. She provides amazing simple-to-use strategies that I can implement when I’m feeling overwhelmed.

I needed help but I didn’t know what that looked like. Amanda showed me what I needed and gave me the tools I needed to help myself.

Do you relate?…

You’re being a yelling Mum, and not showing up in your relationships how you want.

You’re exhausted, over-thinking, stressed, and juggling an unreasonable mental load

You’re constantly making up excuses as to why you can’t look after yourself, and you feel guilty when you do

You’re not well, you’re burnt-out, run-down, lonely, and constantly tired and getting all the bugs going around.

What can we work on (together)?

How much is a session?

My counselling services are priced at $155 per session, whether it’s conducted online or in-person

Do you accept the Medicare Mental Care Plan?

Unfortunately, as a counselor and not a psychologist, I am not covered under Medicare. However, my rates are comparable to the average out-of-pocket expense you would have for a mental care plan with a psychologist. Our sessions are 50 minutes long and cost $155. According to the Australian Psychological Society, the recommended hourly fee for psychologists is $241 per consultation hour, with a Medicare rebate of $86 for a psychologist and $124 for a clinical psychologist. This means that the out-of-pocket expense for seeing a psychologist typically ranges from $95 to $160.

Do you accept Private Health Insurance?

Yes, I have a provider number with Medibank Private and AHM. You can contact them to check your rebate.

What can I expect from our first session?

During our first session, we will get to know each other. I will ask you some general questions about yourself and provide you with an opportunity to talk about why you have decided to seek counseling services. It’s also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about our counseling process and to decide if you would like to work with me.

What are your qualifications?

I have a Bachelor of Social Science (Counselling) and I’m a member of the Australian Counselling Association (Level 2).

How long is each session, and how often do we meet?

Each standard session lasts 50 minutes. At the beginning of our work together, I typically recommend weekly sessions, as six weeks of weekly sessions have been shown to create a significant shift in the issue you came in with. However, I also offer fortnightly and monthly bookings if that frequency is more suitable for your needs. Ultimately, the frequency of sessions is up to you and what works best for your unique situation. During our sessions, we can discuss what frequency will be most effective in helping you achieve your goals.
